Who Shall Dwell in These Worlds

The War of the Worlds (1897)

Aliens invade Earth. They are physically repulsive, but their technology is vastly superior to ours and they begin to lay waste to the planet, destroying cities and killing thousands. Through pluck, ingenuity, or sheer luck, humanity survives, the alien hordes are overcome, and we must rebuild civilization from the ruins.
